For 2008, our sixth year, we are once again at the Las Vegas Hilton, which is conveniently located adjacent to the Convention Center, just off the Strip. See Las Vegas Hilton for more information.
Will my room be located close to the Ballroom?
You’ll have about a five-minute walk, past the coffee shop and registration area, through a corridor by the restaurants, and we’ll be in the first set of ballrooms to the right.
Are the rooms included in the packages?
No, they need to be reserved through the Hilton. They've set up a special site for our attendees, use this link:

Please note: in order to receive our discounted entry fees, you must use the link above, or CALL and reserve your rooms. Rooms booked online through the Hilton's regular website do not count towards our block, and will be subject to non-package rates!
How do I download and print the entry forms from the website?
First, you must have the free Adobe Reader program installed on your computer. Go to Get Adobe Reader if you don’t have the program. Then, click on the link for the form you want, click on the printer icon to print, or choose the “Save a Copy” option to download the form and print it out later.
What new events are being offered this year?
Last year, we awarded for the first time, cash incentives to the Top 3 participating studios
- 1st place = $ 1,000
- 2nd place = $ 500
- 3rd place = $ 250
We'll continue our Top Studio Prizes for 2008, PLUS we are offering a very exciting Studio Teams Match, to be held Friday night.
We're also offering for the first time, separate Bronze and Silver Standard and Latin Scholarships, as well as continuing to offer separate Bronze & Silver Smooth and Rhythm Scholarships. In addition, once again we're offering a full range of freestyle competitions, Closed, Open, and Senior Open Scholarships in the four styles, plus our featured event, The Global “B” Scholarships in the four styles! (B is 36+) If you're a solo performer, we'll schedule your routine through the daytime events, at a convenient time-not first thing in the morning!
For you teachers, we have increased our top Prize to $5000! We pay our top ten teachers, and you only need 30 entries to qualify!!!
Amateurs, we continue to offer a full range of your events, from Youth to Master's!
Are meals included in the packages?
No, this year we’ve left the choice of when and where to dine up to you. Order room service if you like, or join you friends in one of the Hilton’s many fine restaurants.The hotel has lots of fabulous restaurants, 6 Fine-Dining Restaurants including the renowned Benihana Village, T.J.'s Steakhouse,and Casa Nicola,and 8 Casual and Fast Food choices. What is the rate for hotel nights?
The room rate we have negotiated is $149+ tax for Thursday, Feb 28-Tuesday, March 4.
What is the computerized registration, and how does it work?
The computerized registration, which you can find here on the website, is a little program that you download to your Windows computer (sorry, Apple users!). Once you install the program, a screen will appear that asks you to input your studio or personal information, then, a separate menu will appear. Check out the little program- it saves on paper and time, and insures your entries are accurate-faxes and handwriting can slow down the process and cause mistakes! Just follow the instructions and e-mail the file to us. If you use web-based e-mail such as yahoo or hotmail, save the file first, then attach it and send it to us at vegasshowdown@yahoo.com. When is the entry deadline?
Our printed entry deadline is the 22nd of January. We will accept entries after the deadline, but we strongly urge you to secure your room reservations prior to the deadline, as we have had sell-out or near-sell-out room blocks in the past. Please help us to run our event more smoothly and efficiently by doing so!
